A butterfly breaks the boundary of the encaustic panel creating a unique visual interplay between the painted world and reality. It signifies breaking out of the everyday doldrums in search of “sunnier days”.  The abstracted yellow flower’s wispy petals were created with inks, which is contrasted by the textured wax of the center pistil.
