Learn encaustic

Private or Semi-Private Instruction

I offer lessons out of my studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where you will have access to my heated palettes, encaustic paints, various heating guns & torches, and a wide range of tools/brushes.

I will customize the instruction to your level of experience and needs. Possible topics range from a safe studio setup, preparing substrates, creating a smooth encaustic surface, mark making techniques, embedding papers and items, and incorporating mixed media with wax.

Private Instruction is $100/hr.

Semi-private is $60/hr.

A minimum of 3 hours is required.

All materials, use of tools and 2 flat wood panels are included.

Students are welcome to bring their own raw wood panels (no bigger than 12x12) or an ongoing painting to work on.
