Please contact me so I can book your commission on my calendar. I only take a limited number of custom orders per month since I put a lot of heart and time into each piece. If you are looking to receive the art piece by a particular date or holiday, then time is of essence.

Gift Certificates are also available! This is the perfect option if you’d rather have the recipient choose the photo, style, and color palette. All you need to choose is the portrait size.

What I need from you

Email 3-5 clear, quality photos to loriscreativehaven@gmail.com. From those options I will choose the image that best translates into art. Of course, if you have a particular photo in mind, I am happy to oblige. However, I reserve the right to determine if it can serve as a reference for my painting process. Please be aware that professional images can only be used if you purchased the rights or have the photographer’s written consent.

Not sure which pictures to send? Start with your favorite snapshots. If it evokes emotion or triggers a fond memory, then that’s a telltale sign that it’s worthy of art status. Faces do not need to be smiling or looking directly at the camera. In fact, I find that the most captivating portraits are ones in which the subject(s) is(are) not posed. Also, in order to insure likeness of the person(s) the photo should have clear facial details.

Please let me know if you desire a particular color palette. You can also browse my portfolio to see if there is a particular style you are interested in.

What to expect

My portraits are primarily watercolor with a bit of colored pencil or ink, if deemed necessary. Acrylic or oil paintings are an option as well. Please inform me of your preference.

Only high quality artist-grade paints are used. Watercolors are painted on an archival 300 lb. cold-pressed 100% cotton paper and sealed with a UV-protectant. Acrylics and oil paintings are on triple-primed canvas or birch panels.

Turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks from receipt of the reference photos. I will send you a work in progress photo so you can join me in the exciting creative process. Once the painting is finished I will email you photos of the artwork.

Payment

Half down after the reference photo and art size is chosen.

Remaining balance (plus S/H) upon completion and prior to delivery

Custom Pricing

Size price is based on a watercolor painting of ONE person/animal. Additional subjects are an additional $50 each. Please note that I will only paint more than one person/animal on a 11x14 size or larger in order the have enough space for the subjects.

Acrylic and oil paintings require an additional $50 for materials.

Prints & Scans

Archival fine art prints of your commission are available. This is a great way to gift your portrait to family members/ friends. Or if you are already gifting the painting, then you get to keep one for yourself!

Because I provide my printing company a hi-resolution scan of the original my prints basically look like the real painting. The finest archival inks & paper are used to insure against fading. The prints are hand-signed and frame-ready.

You can also purchase the rights to a hi-resolution scan of the painting (inquire for pricing).
